Requirements
- To be eligible, organizations must qualify as exempt organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Annual application period and deadlines
Applications are accepted year-round and must be received prior to April 30 to be considered for the current year.
Communications
Applicants will receive an automated email confirming their submission. Grant decisions are generally communicated by the end of July for applications received by the deadline.
Foundation Information
Buster Coleman was born on April 29, 1913, in Wise County, Texas. He was a long-time member of Wesley United Methodist Church but joined Lamar Baptist Church shortly before his death. Mr. Coleman died July 20, 2001 and was preceded in death by his wife, Ollie Mae Coleman.
He created the foundation in his last will and testament to be operated exclusively for religious, charitable, scientific, literary or educational purposes and for the prevention of cruelty to children or animals.
