The Sitka Alaska Permanent Charitable Trust provides grants to promote cultural programs, general community betterment and educational assistance and advancement of scientific knowledge to the marine and terrestrial flora and fauna of Sitka and surrounding areas.

Requirements

  • To be eligible, organizations must qualify as exempt organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Grant making priorities

Preference may be given to requests for the following:
  • Grants are primarily made to organizations located in Alaska, and priority is given to organizations located in Sitka, Alaska.

Average giving

Average total giving per year: $90,000

Annual application period and deadlines

Applications are accepted from January through April. Applications must be submitted by April 25 to be reviewed at the annual grant meeting.

Communications

Applicants will receive an email confirming their submission. Grant decisions are generally communicated within 3 months of the deadline for applications received by the deadline.

Required agreements and reports

Periodic progress reports and final reports may be required for funded projects.
